About IBeGe

South West Nigeria has one of the highest rates of twins in the world. In Yoruba culture, twins are revered and believed to bring blessings and good fortune, and in research they give us information we can’t get anywhere else. The IBeGe Project uses information from twins and their relatives to understand what influences children’s wellbeing and mental health in Nigeria and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries.
