At the IBeGe Project, we believe research should be done with families, not only about them. That is why community involvement sits at the centre of our work.
Our advisory group
We work with a group of parents of twins who advise us on designing our research. Their input helps make sure our studies stay relevant and acceptable to the Nigerian community. They have also been actively helping us make links with key members of the community, opening doors that would be hard for researchers to open alone.
Sharing what we learn
Taking part in research should not be a one-way street. In every project, we aim to give participants, both parents and children, feedback on our overall findings. We do this in person and online through this website, so that families can use what we learn in their day-to-day lives.
Why this matters
Our long-term goal is to improve children’s wellbeing in Nigeria and other low- and middle-income countries. That depends on research that families trust and understand, and on findings that return to the people who made them possible.
Get involved
Are you a twin, or a parent of twins? Do you have questions you think we should ask in our research? We would love to hear from you. Call us on 07071329046, or send a message through our Contact page.
